He received his D.O.M. from the Shaanxi College of TCM in 1982, and then taught and practiced in the same institute. After getting his M. Med. degree from the graduate school in the same institute in 1988, Dr. Hou taught and practiced both TCM acupuncture and herbal medicine as well as western medicine in the Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM as attending surgeon and physician.
