Chinese Health Clinic
The insertion of fine stainless steel needles (disposable) into acupuncture points located along meridian pathways. Acupuncture is one of the ancient Chinese Traditional Medical (TCM) art. Today, in most western cultures it is considered a "new alternative" medicine. In reality Acupuncture (and its related Moxibustion) are practiced medical treatments that are over 5,000 years old. Very basically, Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles, (sometimes in conjunction with electrical stimulus), on the body's surface, in order to influence physiological functioning of the body. Acupuncture can also be used in conjunction with heat produced by burning specific herbs, this is called Moxibustion. In addition, a non-invasive method of massage therapy, called Acupressure, can also be effective. The first record of Acupuncture is found in the 4,700 year old Huang Di Nei Jing (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine).

Harmony Acupuncture
Acupuncturists have as their major therapeutic method the restoration of normal bodily function. They do this by removing interference to the master controller of every body function, the organ system. Chinese Medicine works with the functional disorders by attempting to increase function to the organ or tissues involved. They do this by removing the principle cause of functional loss, interference to the flow of Qi. The purpose of acupuncture and oriental medicine is to restore the body back to a state of harmony and balance. Acupuncturists focus on how the blood and qi circulate in health and disease and how the energetic system can be thrown off balance by poor nutrition, pollution, trauma, illness and stress. Levels of stress need to be examined before it takes its toll and diminishes one's health or well-being.

Metta Natural Health Center
Acupuncture literally means "needle piercing", the practice of inserting very fine needles into the skin to stimulate specific anatomic points in the body (called acupoints) for therapeutic purposes. Along with the usual method of puncturing the skin with the fine needles, the practitioners also use heat, pressure, friction, suction, or impulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate the points. The acupoints are stimulated to balance the movement of energy (qi) in the body to restore health.
