Acupuncture is an effective form of health care which has evolved into a complete and holistic medical system. As with Chiropractic, acupuncture promotes natural healing. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.At the core of this ancient medicine, is the philosophy that Qi, (pronounced “chee”) or Life Energy, flows throughout the body and protects it from illness, pain and disease. A person’s health is influenced by the quality, quantity and balance of Qi. Qi flows through specific pathways called Meridians. There are 12 main meridians in the body. Each of these is connected to specific organs and glands.At Fulk Chiropractic & Acupuncture we use a technique called Electro Meridian Imaging, or a Meridian Graph, to measure any imbalances of Qi in the body. Once we find the imbalances, we then use a combination of needles and/or electro stimulation to treat specific acupuncture points to bring the body back into balance. This can take anywhere from 4 to 10 visits depending on the chronicity of the patients problem.

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points. The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues, blood flow and nervous pulses also follow meridians to run through the body to various parts, structures and organs. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up the flow in one part of the body and restricts it in others. Any obstruction and blockages or deficiencies of energy, blood and nervous pulses would eventually lead to disease.
