Connecticut Acupuncture Physicians
Acupuncture therapy has been used for thousands of years in China. Acupuncture is the treatment of choice for one-fourth of the world's population! The needles are FDA approved, individually packaged, pre-sterilized and disposed after a single use. After the first treatment has been administered, depending on the ailment being treated, many experiences may occur. Immediate, total or partial relief from pain or other symptoms may be experienced. Some patients experience a sudden burst of energy while others may feel relaxed. Many people experience a calming satisfaction. In most situations treatments take between 20 and 30 minutes but can last longer in certain scenarios. The length of the treatment depends on individual conditions of the patient and the skill of the acupuncturist. Many conditions may be treated.

When I graduated Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 1991, the big question people asked was, "Does acupuncture really work?" Well, things have changed a lot since then. Acupuncture has become a science based healing method which still maintains its' intrinsic connection to body/mind/spirit. It is the fastest growing Complementary Medicine in the USA. Why? Because it works! Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine is the most fulfilling life work I could have ever imagined. I often say "I get to do magic everyday", and no one is more thrilled for a patient's recovery than I (except maybe the patient). Having been a public school teacher for many years, patient education is a big part of my practice. I am not a silent acupuncturist. Teaching you the reasons why something is done or why you are asked to moderate your diet will help you have an easier time complying with your personal program. We also offer evening public education classes at our new facility. Please contact us for a schedule. After completing Acupuncture College, I undertook extensive study in Chinese Herbology under master herbalist Arthur Shaddock.

Acupuncture Health Services of New Haven
I have been involved with acupuncture since the early 1970's when United States and China established relationships with cultural and scientific exchanges. From several courses of study and a fifteen year association with a Chinese acupuncture physician, I am now able to provide comprehensive therapy. Goals to offer Connecticut patients the highest standards of acupuncture services encouraged me to help found the Connecticut Acupuncture Association and the Connecticut Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of which I now serve as chairman. A book I wrote entitled Acupuncture: Everything You Ever Wanted To Know, answers in an easy-to-understand way the many questions people have asked over the past twenty years. My aim for improved health care will continue as I continue to study, to teach, and to treat those in need of Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture (along with herbology, dietetics, physical therapy, and exercise regimes such as Tai Chi and Qi Gong) is a science that comes from the healing system known as Chinese medicine or Oriental medicine. Based on ancient Eastern philosophies, it treats pain and dysfunction and promotes health through a technique used for thousands of years.Acupuncturists diagnose conditions by assessing the flow of vital energy along pathways called meridians and channels, which can be seen with advanced imaging. This is comparable to the way Western medical doctors make diagnosis based on how blood flows through the blood vessels or on how messages travel through the nervous system. If vital energy is blocked, acupuncturists use needles, electric current, or laser to stimulate areas along the meridians known as acupoints in order to restore proper energy flow, thereby preventing illness or restoring a patient’s health. Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years in the East.

Your first visit will begin with an in depth assessment of your condition and an initial treatment. The intake and treatment may take up to 1 1/2 hours. Typical treatments afterwards last approximately 45 minutes. Pricing for a series of sessions is available.
We will work with you to design a custom series to maximize the effects of the acupuncture and make it affordable. Initial consultation and session- A recommendation is then made for a series, usually between 10-20 sessions performed at twice a week or week l Ultra-thin needles and other modalities are used on the face to reduce wrinkles, lift and tone facial muscles and improve the color, luster and radiance of the skin.
